I've never been one to mince words and at 72, today is no exception.
I lived in greater Atlanta 28 years, moving there from sunny San Diego.
I quickly learned about the issues Atlanta faces every single day and will forever.
It's JUNETEENTH, the markets are closed, and to celebrate this novel holiday I want to give my friends my definition of a teen takeover. Had a buddy of mine get caught in one recently with his family and he said he was as scared as he had ever been and he was in his vehicle. He was not armed, had no knives, not even a tire iron, available to protect his family. Just drove into it, lucky for sure.
A teen takeover is nothing but a large number of black youth running around doing an admirable job of destroying or breaking stuff that doesn't belong to them and is usually costly for taxpayers and citizens to repair.
Growing up on Indian Reservations we never had red kid takeovers, I've never heard of yellow teen takeovers in China Town, and don't recall any white kid takeovers in any city I ever lived in which were Minneapolis, St. Paul, Dallas, San Diego, New York, Atlanta, among them.
