Better late than never.........

Some things never change.   Most Americans don't know what "Indian time" is.  I deal with it every day if not at least weekly.  My mocs finally arrived today from northern Minnesota!

I can hear the drums already!

I am still handling bills that continue to flood in from my fathers death last June 9th.

When I get some "spare" time i want to comment on the billing practices of the above named company.

If you are the caretaker of an elderly person I would run, not walk, from having anything to do with this practice.   How much and how many ways can one be billed for a simple signature?  Plenty.

More to come on that.    Come to think of it, the vast majority of doctors don't or won't give a patient their email addresses for fear that you might ask them a question that they would answer and then not get paid for or perhaps leave them open to liability.

Is this something that ObamaCare might cure?    No, I am not serious with that comment.

One coming down, more to go...........

From Bloomberg: "Greece’s Prime Minister Lucas Papademos requested the country’s Finance Ministry to prepare a document on the implications of a Greek default, Panos Beglitis, spokesman for the socialist Pasok Party said. The Prime Minister yesterday told the leaders of the three political parties supporting his interim government that he asked the Ministry “to record accurately and realistically all the consequences of the country’s exit from the euro zone,” Beglitis said today in an interview with Radio 9, according to a transcript of his comments e-mailed from the Athens-based offices of Pasok."

Super Bowl Sunday........

It's true.  Mr. Romney is the only candidate at this point in the race to run Obama out of office.

It's a nation of Hollywood scriptology,  sound-bite media lashing, advertising for eye-balls instead of truth.    Dr. Ron Paul is radical surgery for the radical debt cancer but he's toast.

You see, today the danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a lazy, uninformed electorate willing to elect him. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Our nation can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a symptom. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

We could sure use some Super Leadership in America today!!  And some brains in the electorate.

Government Lies?

It's been nearly 30 years to the day since i went to work for the venerable Kidder, Peabody & Co., Inc.  Dave Utter hired me and remains a great friend to this day.   He understood the crapola espoused by  Wall Street ilk and government BS'ers and did his best to impart the truth.  Today, both of us laugh at the BS when we hear it and it seems all we do is laugh at the freak show of lies..   Here is some beautiful refutation of  today's government employment numbers.   If you want some truth, it's not really a stock market anymore, in fact I have always said one thing the market mechanism should be is a government run exchange instead of a for-profit exchange.  The NYSE should  more aptly be called a massive farm of servers and supercomputers that is technically a crime scene.  Co-location is a losing proposition for market participants now because the market is so thin and devoid of real traders, let alone investors (75% is algo, less than 10% is held longer than a day), and because of the magic of order flashing, it's a totally stacked deck. They know how many shares you own and where you bought or sold 'em (ID tracking). They know if you're trading from a ToS account, a prop shop or bulge bracket desk. Bids and asks disappear as soon as you hit them. And they make the spreads look artificially good when they're really a mile wide. Most of the serious trading (if any) from size players is done through dark pools sight unseen. Everyone else is road kill for the whack-a-mole machine!

Lies, BS, Hocus-pocus, Phooey

Before you take that stroll in the Everglades .............

In this Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 photo provided by the National Park Service, Everglades National Park wildlife biologists Mark Parry, left, and Skip Snow perform a necropsy on a Burmese Python that was captured and killed in Everglades National Park, Fla. The 15.65-foot-long Python had recently consumed a 76-lb. adult female deer. The reptile was one of the largest ever found in South Florida. (AP Photo/National Park Service)

One bright trader, Kyle Bass says, "Don't sell your gold"

The mainstream media seem willing to sound the all-clear and bring us back from Defcon-3 on the back of what can generously be described by realists willing to look at the actual data as a 'murky' NFP print. The market's reaction seems modestly QE-off (with rates up decently) but the only modest drop in Gold appears to fit with a lack of conviction in the data (especially given the EUR sell-off on Papademos chatter). It seems, as Bloomberg reports, Kyle Bass is right to take the longer-view when he notes today "I'm against selling any of the gold" in UTIMCO's portfolio, pointing out the mounting risks from government deficits in US and Europe, "as every day goes by, I see deflation in the things you own and inflation in the things you need." Summing up the reality of our global situation, one of Bass's colleagues adds "This is a grand experiment and they typically never end well."
