JUNETEENTH & WORK

Officially recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, Juneteenth is observed with community gatherings, parades, music, food, and reflection on freedom and justice.  The stock market is closed.  Celebrations often include food, storytelling, and educational events highlighting Black history. It’s a time to acknowledge ongoing struggles for equality while celebrating progress.

Now, if the community could take a day off from killing fellow members or others, America would be a better place.

There are a lot of problems in the world. Never forget, 600,000 Americans died to ensure that blacks were no longer slaves. Reparations are not in the cards. Giving money away to those who don't have and taking it from those who have isn't the answer.

Work is the answer.

Good old-fashioned work.
