My late grandfather, Walter Eugene Marquart always said that "as a rule, freeze-up (in west central Minnesota) comes on Armistice Day. I bet you and yours a C-note that none of your children know why November 11th is Armistice Day. America's children should know. They know not. Grampa Marquart was the hardest working man I ever met.
