Monday, 9/23, I started buying short ETF's.

Today, 9/25 I doubled positions on the short side.    

Sold half of my longs pre-market. 

My goal has been to keep my portfolio near ATH's.

This isn't the time to be a hero and double down on the long side.

Do yourself a favor.

I have traveled America, looking into breakfast haunts everywhere.

The waitresses, the cooks, the patrons, the windows, the rest rooms, the light, the grime, the dirt, the laughs, the tats, the good and the bad.

Nowhere in America have I found laughter and humor as I have in the Iron Horse Saloon on a weekday morning. 

It is literally nonstop.  One zinger after another.  No end to them.

It is a privilege few have experienced to be part of such hilarity.

I am always in awe and humbled to be such a small "part" of the greatest crew ever assembled for morning chow in a river town in Montana.

The only person who keeps it from going off the rails is Nancy, the gracious waitress who keeps $3 coffee going until you can't.   

The best humor in America.  Free for the asking. 

Muscle up to the bar and listen in.

Just like you, I remember exactly where I was on that morning that changed the world.   Middle Eastern dudes with box-cutters started TSA and forever changed security around the globe.   New industries were spawned from the horrific carnage inflicted on America.

On the anniversary, let us remain vigilant.

Bad people with bad intentions are all around.

Bull snakes (Pituophis catenifer sayi) are non-venomous constrictors native to North America, primarily known for preying on small mammals like rodents, as well as birds, eggs, and occasionally amphibians or lizards. While they are sometimes rumored to eat rattlesnakes—venomous pit vipers like those in the genus Crotalus—this is a persistent myth with little scientific backing.

A study examining the stomach contents of 1,000 bull snakes found only two instances of rattlesnake remains, indicating that such predation is extremely rare. Researchers who study both species report "next to nothing" in the literature to support bull snakes regularly consuming rattlesnakes, as bull snakes prefer warm-blooded prey. In the rare cases documented, it's unclear if the rattlesnake was killed and eaten alive or simply scavenged after death.

Bull snakes do not significantly impact rattlesnake populations through predation; instead, they may compete for the same rodent prey. True predators of rattlesnakes include kingsnakes (which are immune to rattlesnake venom and actively hunt them) and certain birds of prey. Bull snakes are harmless to humans and beneficial for controlling rodents, so they should not be killed if encountered.

It's anyone's guess what will happen.

Nature is a cruel beast.   This buck died from Blue Tongue.   Cooler, frosty mornings can't come quick enough to kill the insects that infect them.    We have found other dead deer on the ranch and hope it doesn't become a large-scale die-off.  I have a bad feeling about this, it's hot.
